Import & Export Data
FoundersBoxx supports importing data to get started quickly and exporting data for reporting or compliance.
Importing Data
Contacts (CSV Import)
Import contacts and leads from a spreadsheet:
- Go to GTM → Contacts
- Click Import
- Upload a CSV file
- Preview the data and map columns
- Confirm the import
Required columns:
- Name or First Name + Last Name
Optional columns:
- Company
- Title
- Phone
- Stage
- Source
- Notes
Tips:
- Download the sample template to see the expected format
- Clean your data before importing — remove duplicates and fix formatting
- Map columns in the preview step if headers don’t match exactly
- Existing contacts (matched by email) will be updated, not duplicated
Financial Data (Accounting Import)
Import actuals from your accounting software:
- Go to Financials → Actuals
- Click Connect Accounting or Import
- For connected accounts, click Sync Now to pull latest data
- For manual import, upload your data
Connected Integrations:
- Xero — Automatic sync of P&L, balance sheet, invoices
- QuickBooks Online — Automatic sync of income, expenses, customers

Manual Import: If you don’t use Xero or QuickBooks, you can manually enter actuals or upload data through the manual import option.
Forecasts from Actuals
Seed your forecasts using historical actuals:
- Go to Financials → Expense Forecasts
- Click Import from Actuals
- Review the account categories detected
- Select which accounts to include
- Confirm the import
This creates forecast entries based on your historical spending patterns.
Exporting Data
Evaluation Analytics (CSV/Excel)
Export performance evaluation data for external analysis:
- Go to Team Admin → Evaluation Analytics
- Set your date range and filters
- Click Export
- Choose format (CSV or Excel)
- Download the file
Exported fields:
- Employee name
- Evaluator name
- Template used
- Evaluation type and assessment type
- Scores and ratings
- Completion dates
Personal Data Export (GDPR)
Request a copy of your personal data:
- Go to Profile → Privacy & Data
- Click Request Data Export
- Wait for processing (you’ll receive an email)
- Download the export file
The export includes:
- Your profile information
- Account membership details
- Activity history
- Any content you’ve created
This feature supports GDPR data portability requirements.
Investor Updates (PDF)
Export investor updates as PDFs:
- Go to Investors → Updates
- Open an update
- Click Download PDF
PDFs include all sections: financial summary, metrics, highlights, and asks.
Cap Table Export
Export your cap table for external use:
- Go to Investors → Cap Table
- Click Export
- Choose format
Exports include shareholder details, share counts, ownership percentages, and valuation data.
Data Formats
CSV Requirements
When preparing CSV files for import:
- Use UTF-8 encoding
- Include a header row with column names
- Use commas as delimiters
- Wrap text containing commas in quotes
- Dates should be in YYYY-MM-DD or MM/DD/YYYY format
- Currency values should be numbers only (no symbols)

FoundersBoxx accepts these date formats:

Currency Values
Enter monetary values as plain numbers:
1000or1000.00— correct$1,000.00— avoid (may cause parsing errors)
Troubleshooting
Import fails with “invalid format” Check that your CSV uses UTF-8 encoding and has the required columns.
Duplicate records after import Contacts are matched by email. Ensure email addresses are consistent and correctly formatted.
Missing data after import Review the column mapping in the preview step. Unmapped columns are skipped.
Export is empty Check your filters. The export only includes data matching your current filter settings.
Integration Syncs
For ongoing data sync (not one-time import), use integrations:
- Xero/QuickBooks — Automatic financial data sync
- Stripe — Payment and subscription metrics
- Google Calendar — Event sync
